Botpress Plus costs $150 a month billed yearly ($189 monthly) for 250 conversations. Every extra 100 conversations cost $65, added automatically, and human-handled chats count too. It is a strong builder, but a small team with 1,000 chats a month pays about $735, plus any AI usage over the included $25.
For AI chat, a team inbox and a CRM at one flat price, try CRMsoftware.pro (from $19 a month). For a no-code AI agent trained on your docs, Chatbase. For complex chat and voice agents, Voiceflow.
For an AI agent inside a full help desk, Intercom Fin. For small-business live chat, Tidio. For guided lead-gen flows, Landbot. For developer teams, Dialogflow CX, Dify or Rasa.
We checked every price on the vendor's own pricing page on October 27, 2026, in US dollars, before tax. We show the yearly price first and the monthly price in brackets where the vendor lists both.
CRMsoftware.pro is our own product, so we list its limits too. No made-up scores or tests: each tool gets its real price, its pros and cons, and who it suits.

What Botpress costs in 2026

Botpress is a platform for building AI agents for support, lead generation and product recommendations. It includes a visual studio, a code kit (ADK), a help desk called Desk, and webchat and WhatsApp channels. All products share the same plans.
The plans on October 27, 2026:
| Plan | Price | Conversations | Extra 100 conversations | AI usage included | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 | Not available | Included (amount not stated) | 3 |
| Plus | $150/mo billed yearly ($189 monthly) | 250 a month | $65 | $25 | 3 |
| Team | $750/mo billed yearly ($939 monthly) | 1,500 a month | $50 | $150 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Unlimited |
What counts as a conversation. Any exchange with at least two messages from the customer in a billing month. AI-only and human-handled chats count the same, and so do test chats in the emulator. A chat that runs across two months counts in both.
Packs you can't switch off. At 95% of your quota, Botpress adds a pack of 100 conversations. Its FAQ says you can't turn this off, because pausing would stop the product. Packs stay on your plan until you remove them, and unused pack conversations expire at month end.
AI usage on top. Plus includes $25 of AI usage and Team $150. Past 95% of that limit, Botpress buys a $10 AI credit grant for you at cost. You can't change the amount or set a cap yet; Botpress says those settings are "coming soon".
A real cost example. A team with 600 conversations a month on Plus passes 95% of its quota four times: at 238, 333, 428 and 523 conversations. That is 4 packs × $65 = $260, so the month costs $150 + $260 = $410 before any extra AI usage.
Other costs. Extra storage is $40 a month on Plus and Team. Voice calls are Enterprise only, and 3 minutes of a call count as one conversation.
Old prices still circulate. Several ranking articles still quote a $79 or $89 Plus plan, a $495 Team plan, or a pay-as-you-go plan with a $5 AI credit. Botpress's page now shows only the conversation-based plans above.
Why people look for a Botpress alternative
- The bill grows with every chat. Human-handled conversations use the same quota as AI ones, and packs are added automatically.
- Only 3 seats on Plus. More seats, routing and role-based access start on Team at $750 a month.
- A learning curve. One Capterra reviewer (2024) wrote, "I dislike that Botpress has a steep learning curve, especially for beginners and non-technical users."
- Few starting points. Another Capterra reviewer (2024) wrote, "It would be a huge help to have more templates available as a starting point."
- Voice costs extra. The voice channel is Enterprise only.
To be fair, many users like Botpress. It holds 4.5 out of 5 from 37 reviews on Capterra and 4.5 out of 5 from over 500 reviews on G2. One Capterra reviewer called it "an economical and code-friendly low-code platform".
What a 3-agent support team pays per month
Our example: a small business with 1,000 website chat conversations a month and 3 support agents. The AI agent replies first in every chat and solves 700 of them. The other 300 go to a person.
The AI sends about 3 replies in each solved chat and 1 in each handed-over chat, so about 2,400 AI replies a month. All rows use yearly prices where the vendor offers them (Intercom at its new-customer seat price), before tax.
| Tool and plan | How the bill adds up | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|
| Dialogflow CX (Playbooks) | About 2,400 requests × $0.012 = $28.80, if each AI reply is one request. No inbox for your agents, so you need a separate help desk and a developer to connect it | $28.80 + a help desk |
| CRMsoftware.pro Growth | $49 flat for 20 users, 3,000 AI messages (2,400 fit) and the team inbox. Launch at $19 has only 1,000 AI messages | $49 |
| Dify Professional | $590 a year = $49.17 a month for 5,000 credits. Credits per reply depend on the model. No live-chat inbox for agents | $49.17 + a help desk |
| Chatbase Basic | $120 for 4,000 credits, 3 members and the helpdesk inbox. 2,400 replies fit with 1-credit models. With 2-credit models you need 800 more credits, bought as one 1,000-credit top-up for $40 (the unused credits don't expire). Actions can double credit use | $120–$160 |
| Landbot Professional | $88 with 300 AI chats and 3 seats + 700 extra AI chats × $0.10 = $70 | $158 |
| Tidio Growth + Lyro | 300 human chats need the 400 tier: $74.17. Lyro for 1,000 AI conversations: $583.33 (Tidio's calculator) | $657.50 |
| Botpress Plus | $150 for 250 conversations + 9 packs × $65 = $585 (the ninth is added at 998 conversations). AI usage above $25 is extra | $735 + AI over $25 |
| Botpress Team | $750 for 1,500 conversations, $150 of AI usage and unlimited seats. That is $15 more than Plus, but with $125 more AI usage and no seat limit | $750 |
| Intercom Essential + Fin | 3 seats × $19 (new-customer price) = $57 + 700 outcomes × $0.99 = $693. Handovers the customer asks for are free; Procedure handoffs are charged | $750 ($780 at the $29 list price) |
| Rasa Developer Edition | $0 licence up to 1,000 conversations a month. Hosting, LLM costs and developer time come on top, and chat 1,001 needs Enterprise | $0 + hosting and LLM |
| Voiceflow | About 2,400 customer messages (assuming one per AI reply) × $0.005 = $12 in credits, plus LLM tokens, taken from the plan's monthly credit allotment. The plan fee is shown only inside the app | Not public |
The cheapest rows, Dialogflow and Dify, cover only the AI. You still need a help desk for the 300 human chats and someone to build the agent. Among tools with a human inbox included, CRMsoftware.pro Growth ($49) and Chatbase Basic ($120) cost least here.
Botpress, Tidio and Intercom all land between $650 and $790 because they charge for each AI conversation or outcome. Their price rises with volume, while flat plans stay the same until you pass the plan limit.
The 9 best Botpress alternatives
1. CRMsoftware.pro: best for AI chat plus a CRM at one team price

CRMsoftware.pro is our product, so judge this section with that in mind. You train an AI agent on your website and documents, and it answers on your site, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and Slack. When a customer needs a person, it hands over to your team.
Every chat becomes a contact, and you can turn a lead into a deal in the built-in pipeline. Users and AI messages are part of the plan, so you don't pay per seat or per conversation.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, billed yearly): Free for 3 users and 100 AI messages a month (website chat only). Launch $19/mo ($24 monthly) for 8 users, 1,000 AI messages, the other channels and human handover.
Growth $49 ($59) for 20 users, 3,000 AI messages and the team inbox with saved replies. Scale $99 ($119) for 50 users, 10,000 AI messages, the REST API and HubSpot or Salesforce sync. Messages your team sends don't count as AI messages.
Pros: flat price for the whole team; inbox, CRM, bookings and payment links built in; AI replies in 95+ languages; AI voice minutes on every plan.
Cons: no visual flow builder or code kit like Botpress Studio and ADK; API and webhooks only from Scale; no self-hosting; the pricing page doesn't say what happens past the AI message limit.
Best for: small businesses that want an AI agent and a human inbox working out of the box, not a custom-built agent.
Check last month's conversation count and pack charges on your Botpress invoice, then compare with a plan where users and AI messages are included. Start free, no card needed, or see pricing.
2. Chatbase: best no-code AI agent trained on your docs

Chatbase builds an AI agent from your website, files and help center. It adds AI actions, such as booking a meeting from your calendar, and a helpdesk inbox from Basic. Setup needs no code. See our Chatbase alternatives guide too.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, billed yearly): Hobby $32/mo ($40 monthly) for 700 message credits and 2 members. Basic $120 ($150) for 4,000 credits, 3 members, the helpdesk inbox, voice and API access. Business $400 ($500) for 15,000 credits and 5 members.
Each AI reply uses 1 to 5 credits depending on the model, and actions can use more. Extra credits cost $40 per 1,000. Removing the Chatbase branding costs $1,188 a year, and each extra agent $300 a year. There is a 7-day trial and no free plan.
Pros: fast no-code setup; many help desk integrations from Basic; credits don't depend on seat count.
Cons: one agent per plan; branding removal is a paid add-on; when credits run out, the agent stops answering unless auto-recharge is on.
Best for: teams that want a docs-trained AI agent live this week without a developer.
3. Voiceflow: best for complex chat and voice agents
Voiceflow is the closest match to Botpress Studio. Teams design agents that mix AI playbooks with fixed workflows, connect APIs, test, and release through staging environments. It covers chat, phone and SMS.
Price (Oct 27, 2026): Voiceflow doesn't publish plan prices. Its docs list Free, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans, with prices shown only inside the app. Usage is published: $0.005 per user message, $0.05 per phone minute, and LLM tokens at each model's rate.
Pros: deep control over agent logic; choice of LLM or your own model; testing and staging before release; chat, phone and SMS in one platform.
Cons: plan prices hidden until signup; no built-in help desk, so handoff goes to another platform; needs more setup time than no-code tools.
Best for: product and CX teams building complex agents across chat and phone.
4. Intercom Fin: best AI agent inside a full help desk

Fin is Intercom's AI agent. With the Intercom help desk you get live chat, a shared inbox, ticketing and a help center. Fin can also run on top of another help desk, such as Salesforce or Zendesk. More in our Intercom alternatives guide.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, billed yearly): Essential $29 per seat, $19 for new customers ($39 and $29 monthly). Advanced $85 ($99). Expert $132 ($139). Fin costs $0.99 per outcome on every plan. Fin on another help desk has a monthly minimum, for example 50 outcomes.
An outcome is a resolved chat (including one where the customer doesn't ask for more help) or a completed workflow, charged once per conversation. If the customer asks for a person, you pay nothing, but a handoff at the end of a Procedure you set up counts as an outcome.
Pros: mature help desk; you pay only when Fin delivers an outcome; spending limits; 14-day trial without a card.
Cons: the bill grows with every resolution and every seat; WhatsApp, SMS and phone are billed per use; Copilot costs $29 per agent a month billed yearly ($35 monthly).
Best for: support teams that want a full help desk and expect a high AI resolution rate.
5. Tidio: best for small-business live chat with AI
Tidio combines live chat, ticketing and the Lyro AI agent. Lyro can also run on its own on top of another help desk. The paid self-serve plans include up to 10 seats. See our Tidio alternatives guide too.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, billed yearly): Free for 50 human-answered conversations. Starter $24.17/mo ($29 monthly) for 100. Growth from $49.17 ($59) for 250, and $74.17 ($89) for 400. Plus from $300 a month plus usage.
Lyro is billed separately, from $32.50 a month for 50 AI conversations. Tidio's calculator shows $583.33 a month ($700 monthly) for 1,000. A Lyro conversation is any chat with at least one AI reply, however many replies it takes.
Pros: free plan; easy setup; you pay for human conversations and AI conversations separately, so you see each cost.
Cons: AI is a second bill that grows fast at volume; higher Lyro tiers appear only in the calculator; the AI limit renews 30 days after payment.
Best for: online shops with a modest number of chats a month.
6. Landbot: best no-code builder for guided flows
Landbot is a visual builder for chatbots and AI agents on websites, WhatsApp and Messenger. It suits lead-gen forms and guided flows, with human takeover in a shared inbox from Starter.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, billed yearly): Free for 100 chats a month, no AI. Starter $36/mo ($45 monthly) for 500 chats, 100 AI chats and 2 seats. Professional $88 ($110) for 2,500 chats, 300 AI chats and 3 seats. Professional WA $176 ($220) with 500 AI chats.
Extra chats cost $0.05 each, billed in packs of 500 for $25, and extra AI chats $0.10, both published. WhatsApp with your own number starts on Professional.
Pros: clear overage prices; visual builder with templates; free plan and a 14-day trial.
Cons: few AI chats included; Landbot branding stays on Starter; Instagram isn't listed as a channel.
Best for: marketing teams that collect leads with guided flows on web and WhatsApp.
7. Dialogflow CX: best low per-request price for developer teams
Google's Conversational Agents comes in two editions: Flows (Dialogflow CX), built with intents and flows, and Playbooks, built with natural-language instructions and data stores. It runs on Google Cloud.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, pay as you go): chat requests cost $0.007 each on Flows and $0.012 on Playbooks. Voice costs $0.001 or $0.002 per second. New users get $600 (Flows) and $1,000 (Playbooks) of trial credits that expire after 12 months.
Pros: very low cost per request; chat and voice in one service; generous trial credits.
Cons: no help desk included; needs developers and a Google Cloud account; costs depend on how many requests your agent design makes.
Best for: teams with developers who already use Google Cloud.
8. Dify: best open-source AI app builder
Dify is an open-source platform for building AI apps, agents and workflows, with a cloud version and a self-hosted Community edition. It connects to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and others.
Price (Oct 27, 2026, billed yearly): Sandbox free with 200 message credits. Professional $590 a year ($59 monthly) for 5,000 credits a month, 3 members and 50 apps. Team $1,590 a year ($159 monthly) for 10,000 credits and 50 members.
Credits depend on the model type. When they run out, you can switch to your own API key. Dify lists the free Community edition for open-source users, individual developers and non-commercial projects.
Pros: low cloud price; self-hosting option; any major model; workflows beyond customer chat.
Cons: no live-chat inbox for agents; you build the support setup yourself; credits per reply aren't listed by model on the pricing page.
Best for: technical teams that want an open-source builder for several AI apps.
9. Rasa: best for code-first, self-managed agents
Rasa is a platform for building AI agents in code or in a no-code flow builder. You can run it on your own servers or private cloud, or as a managed service. It suits teams that need full control over data and logic.
Price (Oct 27, 2026): the Developer Edition is free for one bot per company, with up to 1,000 external or 100 internal conversations a month. Enterprise is priced by quote and adds premium support.
Pros: free licence for small volume; self-managed deployment; deep control over logic and models.
Cons: you pay for hosting, LLMs and developer time; more than 1,000 external conversations needs Enterprise; Enterprise prices aren't published.
Best for: engineering teams in regulated industries that must keep data in-house.
We left out Microsoft Copilot Studio (its pricing page doesn't show a clear credit price today), Kore.ai and Cognigy (quote only, enterprise), and Manychat, which is built for Instagram DM automation. For Manychat, see our Manychat alternatives guide.
Free Botpress alternatives
Botpress Free gives 100 conversations and 3 seats, with no top-ups. These free options go further in some ways:
- Rasa Developer Edition: up to 1,000 external conversations a month for one bot, but you host it.
- Dify: Sandbox with 200 credits, or the self-hosted Community edition.
- Tidio Free: 50 human-answered conversations a month and 50 Lyro AI conversations once.
- Landbot Free: 100 chats a month on the web, no AI.
- CRMsoftware.pro Free: 3 users and 100 AI messages a month on website chat.
- Dialogflow CX: $600–$1,000 of Google Cloud trial credits for 12 months.
Chatbase (7 days) and Intercom (14 days) offer free trials instead.
When to stay on Botpress
Stay if your agent needs custom logic, code-level actions and many integrations, and your team has the skills to build them. Team at $750 is good value if you use most of its 1,500 conversations and unlimited seats.
Move when most of your bill is packs for simple FAQ chats, when 3 seats on Plus aren't enough, or when you need a CRM next to the bot.

How to switch from Botpress
- Check your billing date. Yearly plans run for the term you paid. Remove extra packs in billing settings so they don't renew next month.
- Export your knowledge. Save the documents, website pages and tables your agent uses. Most tools can import the same files or URLs.
- List your workflows. Note each action, integration and handoff rule that still matters. Expect to rebuild them, and skip the ones nobody uses.
- Move channels last. Install the new widget or connect WhatsApp only after the new agent answers your top 20 questions well.
- Run both for a week. Compare answers and handovers, then turn off the Botpress agent.
