Where answers lead

CRM fields to create

Handoff summary for your team

How to set it up

  1. Paste the questions and the "Where answers lead" messages into your chatbot's or AI agent's instructions, or build them as form steps.
  2. Create the CRM fields from the table, with the same answer options, so every lead is saved in the same format.
  3. Send qualified leads to the next step you chose and the handoff summary to the person who follows up.
  4. After two weeks, check where people stop answering and remove or move that question.

The method

How the lead qualification flow is built

Fixed, tested templates, not a text generator.

Every question in the flow comes from a template written for your type of business and the criteria you tick. The builder adds the answer options, decides where each answer leads and lists the CRM fields that store the answers. Nothing is invented about your prices or services, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

The result is a starting point. Edit the wording so it sounds like you, add your booking link, and test it with real visitors.

Fewer drop-offs

Why the questions come in this order

Easy questions first, commitment questions last.

First

What they need

People came with a question. Starting with their need shows you are listening and sorts out service requests that are not sales leads.

Then

Fit and timing

Location, timeline, team size and who decides are quick to answer and tell you whether the lead fits.

Last

Budget and contact

Asked once the visitor is engaged. Every extra question is a chance to stop replying, so keep the flow short.

Frameworks

BANT and other qualification frameworks

The criteria map to the frameworks sales teams already use.

BANT stands for budget, authority, need and timeline. Ticking those four boxes gives you a BANT flow. CHAMP puts challenges first, then authority, money and prioritization, which matches the order this builder uses. For local businesses, the service area often matters more than budget, so it is a separate criterion.

Pick only what you would really act on. If a lead with any budget gets a call anyway, leave budget out and ask it on the call.

Routing

Three outcomes for every lead

Each answer either moves the lead forward, parks it or ends politely.

Qualified

Next step now

The lead fits, so the flow offers your next step straight away: a call, an appointment, a quote or a person.

Nurture

Not yet

Interested but early, or unsure about budget. Send something useful and follow up later instead of losing them.

Not a fit

Polite exit

Outside your area or below your budget. Say so kindly and save your team's time. Service questions go to the service team.

Your CRM

Which CRM fields a qualification flow needs

One field per question, with the same options as the answers.

When the answer options in the chat and the field options in the CRM match, every lead is stored the same way and you can filter by need, timeline or budget later. Add a status field for the outcome and a field for the next step, so your team sees at a glance what to do.

FAQ

Lead qualification questions

What questions should I ask to qualify a lead?

Ask what they need, then the few things that decide whether you can help: location, timeline, who decides and budget. Ask only what you would act on, and keep contact details for last.

How many qualification questions should a chatbot ask?

As few as possible, usually three to five. Every extra question is a chance for the visitor to stop replying. Ask the rest on the call.

Is this the same as BANT?

If you tick need, budget, decision maker and timeline, yes. You can also add location and company size, which matter for local and B2B businesses.

Can I import the flow into my chatbot?

There is no automatic import. Copy the flow or download the CSV and paste the questions and messages into your chatbot or form builder, then create the CRM fields from the table.

Does the builder use AI?

No. It uses fixed templates for each type of business and criterion, so the same settings always give the same flow. You edit the text yourself.

Is my data stored?

No. Everything runs in your browser. The share link stores your settings after the # sign, not your edits, and is not sent to our server.
